The book highlighted the details of a light fixture illuminating a small reading room. "The fourth-floor reading room was designed as the'crown'of the library tower. The tower establishes a strong image for the library, as well as an eastern end for the original axis of the UCLA campus. The wood slat ceiling and custom pendant fixture create a light-filled spatially dynamic interior. The fixture, like the wood lattice ceiling, is open and transparent."
