Partner, Riblet and [John W.] Strack, Civil Engineers and US Deputy Mining Surveyors, Spokane, WA, 1890. In 1890, Riblet and Strack occupied Rooms #23 and 24 in the Eagle Building. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Spokane, Washington, City Directory, 1890, p. 414.) This civil engineering firm was grouped with architects in a story published in the Spokane Daily Chronicle in 1890. It asked six civil engineering and architectural firms if they would be submitting an entry into an possible architectural competition held for a Washington State Capitol. Rblet and Strack's response was: "We favor submitting competitive designs and will be one of the competitors if the competition is honestly conducted." Their response was similar to others questioning if such a competition would be fair and impartial. (See "Spokane Men Are Ready," Spokane Daily Chronicle, 02/24/1891, p. 5.)
