Professor of Architecture, Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, WA, 08/1966-12/2000. Matthews focused his scholarship on the Greco-Roman cities of Turkey's Aegean coast and the Greek settlements of Sicily. He also authored a book on Kirtland K. Cutter (1860-1939), Kirtland Cutter: Architect in the Land of Promise, one of Spokane's WA's most prolific and notable architects.
