Relocation

William Jay ZImmerman was born in the Grays Harbor County lumber town of Aberdeen, WA, and spent his childhood in Hoquiam, WA, also a town built on forestry, about 3.5 milles due west of Aberdeen.

He attended the University of Washington in Seattle, studying architecture. ZImmerman married Maureen Williams in 1970 and the pair moved to San Francisco, CA, in 1972, remaining here until 1984.

They returned to Seattle to reside in the city's Capitol Hill neighborhood between 1984 and 2021, when they found another house to renovate in residence in Richmond Beach, a neigborhood in Shoreline, WA.

The architect passed away from cancer at age 76.
