Alfred Heineman was born in Chicago, IL, and, early on, he lived in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood.

His family relocated to Southern CA, c. 1894. For much of his adult life, Alfred lived with his family, particularly his elder brother Walter.

In 1896, Alfred probably lived with his father and brother Herbert at 311 Loma Drive in Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. Alfred lived with Walter Heineman at 1600 Orange Grove Avenue in the Picfair Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. Walter had earned good money in the stock market, as the house had a value of $35,000 in 1930, although it may have lost value during the early years of the Depression. This may have forced them to sell the house and move to other rental properties during the 1930s. Others in the household in 1930 were Walter's wife Alice L. Johnston Heineman (born c. 1881 in MA), mother-in-law Laura J. Johnston (born c. 1861 in MA), and a servant, Helen O. McCrea (born c. 1894 in OH).

He died in Los Angeles County, CA, on 01/27/1974 at the age of 91. He was buried at Angelus Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.

Parents

His parents were Theodore Wilhelm Heineman (born c. 1837-d. 1924) and Gertrude Seelman Heineman (born c. 1843 in England-d. 05/03/1899 in Losd Angeles County, CA). Gertrude died prematurely at age 56 in 1899. According to the 1910 US Census, Theodore immigrated to US from Germany in 1860, at about age four. Alfred Heineman's birth certificate indicated that his middle name began with an "M." (See Ancestry.com, Source Information Ancestry.com. In most known documents, however, no middle name appeared.

His World War I draft registration card listed Heineman as Caucasian with "dark gray eyes" and black hair. He stood 5-9-inches tall and had a slender build. It indicated that he had "weak eyes."
