Relocation

Richard Landry was born c. 1957 in Berthierville, QC, Canada. Of his childhood, writer Peter Haldeman wrote: "Landry grew up in Berthierville, a rural town of 5,000 outside Montreal, one of four children born to French-speaking parents. Cattle strolled through the backyard. His father, a carpenter, built their home, a ranch house of yellow brick, redwood, and granite with a modishly canted roof. Landry spent two or three summers working for him, sanding wood until his fingertips bled, swearing he’d never do menial labor when he grew up. In 1977, he moved to Montréal, QC, to attend the university there. He spent some time in Copehagen, Denmark thereafter before moving to Calgary, AB, for his first architectural job.

Landry relocated to the US in 1984, due to a dearth of work in Canada. He worked for R. Duell and Associatesd in Los Angeles, CA, initially. By 1987, he set out on his own, forming the Landry Design Group.

He has resided for some time in Malibu, CA. He also maintained residences in Northern CA and QC.

He maintained a long-term relationship with Robert Corolla, which ended in 2012.

Landry wed Christopher James Drugan (born 04/1985 in CA) in 2020.
