Building Superintendent, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, 1903. (See "At the City Hall: Does City Need New City Building?" Los Angeles Times, 02/12/1903, p. 2) For the week between June 7, 1903 and June 14, 1903, Krause issued 116 building permits for the City of Los Angeles. (See "Doings of Builders and Architects," Los Angeles Times, 06/14/1903, p. A1.)

Krause worked for most of his life in Los Angeles, practicing in the Van Nuys Building; he also worked for the Los Angeles City Building Department as the Superintendant of Public Works; according to architectural biographer, Henry Withey, Krause worked as a "Crier/Bailiff in the Federal Court of Judge Harry Holtzer." (p. 355)

Krause was married to a Miss Jores, November 1894; they had at least one child, a daughter, Mrs. Sophie Krause Yates, who died February 1920;
