Relocation

Born in Germany 01/1858, August C. Brandt immigrated to the US by 1882, according to the US Censuses of 1910 and 1920. (That of 1930 said that entered the US in 1877.) He lived in Harlem, IL c.1888-1895, and later resided in Winfield, IL, where the US Census of 1900 found him. He resettled in Pasadena, CA, by 1903. In 1903-1904, Brandt lived and worked at 45 East Walnut Street in Pasadena. BY 1930, he and his wife lived alone in a house at 104 South San Gabriel Boulevard in Pasadena. The Brandts owned this residence valued in the 1930 US Census at $8,000. Brandt died on 03/31/1930 and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery and Mausoleum, Altadena, CA.

He and Augusta had six children, five of whom survived in 1910. They included: Emil Charles Brandt (born 01/18/1888 in Harlem, IL–1980), Else Clara Anna Brandt Gibson (born 03/07/1890 in Harlem, IL–d. 1947), George William Brandt (born 08/17/1895 in IL–d. 1979), Arthur C. Brandt (born 07/23/1899 in IL–d. 1949), and Walter Lawrence Brandt (b. 09/05/1907 in Pasadena, CA–d. 1981).
