A family geneaological manuscript stated of Fred Stanton's life and career: ""During the 1920s they farmed in Colusa [CA] for a time and then returned to the San Francisco area where he resumed his career as an architect. They lived for twenty-one years in Burlingame until F.H. Stanton retired in 1953 and they moved to Woodside, California. F.H. Stanton died in 1954 and his widow died on June 9, 1961, in Woodside, following a long illness. They are both buried at Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Colma, Calif." He married Rachel Gertrude Gould, daughter of Benjamin Flint Gould (born 12/25/1852 in Madison, ME-d. 04/21/1932 in Colusa, CA) and Ella Spencer Whelpley-Mitchell (born 01/16/1854 in New York, NY-d. 02/21/1892 in Hollister, CA).Benjamin Gould and Ella Whelpley-Mitchellmarried on 01/14/1880.

Frederick's younger brother, Jesse Earl Stanton (1887-1971) married Rachel's younger sister, Grace Greenwood Gould (1889-1956).

Children

Frederick and Rachel had two daughters, Alice Ella Stanton (born 12/19/1910 in San Francisco, CA-d. 10/1960 in Burlingame, CA) and Helen Stanton (born 03/31/1913 in San Francisco, CA). Alice married William Huber and lived for some of her later years in Burlingame, CA. Helen married twice, first to a man named McCabe and the second time to George Kirchner. She resided in Woodside, CA, c. 1971.
