Principal, Ben J. Goodman, Architect, Los Angeles, CA, 1889. An article in the Los Angeles Daily Herald on 02/17/1889 announced the opening of Goodman's architectural practice: "Mr. Ben J. Goodman has been, for three years past, in the office of the architect, Mr. W.O. Merithew. In this position he has designed a good many of the fine residences and blocks of the Angelic City. He has also done a great deal of artistic draughting, as all the best contractors of the city will testify. Now Mr. Goodman has taken a new departure, and opened out for himself. He has engaged some nice rooms in the Panorama building on South Main street, where he will be pleased to see his friends and the general public. Before coming here Mr. Goodman was engaged in the East, where he obtained much experience and earned an enviable reputation as a competent architect.
