Four years after the Great Earthquake of 1906, this would have still been a very busy period for architects in the city. He passed away in Ventura County, CA, at the age of 73, about a month before his 74th birthday.

Parents

His father, Michael Mohr (born c. 06/1849), immigrated to the US from Bavaria, Germany c. 1865. He worked as a bookkeeper in 1900. His mother, Rosalia Remarque (born c. 03/1853 in Rochester, NY-d. 03/03/1926 in San Francisco, CA), managed a busy household. According to the 1900 US Census, she had had eight children by that time, of whom six were alive in that year. (A child, Frederika, born c. 1877 in CA, died before 1900.) The living children in 1900 included Normand, Edwin (born c. 12/1881 in CA), Oscar Herbert (1883-1942), Leona F. Mohr Clark (1886-1943), Alfred (born c. 09/1887 in CA) and Harold Leon (1894-1974).

A visitor to Michael and Rosalia's home in 1880, may have been her father, John F. Remarque, a 64-year-old physician, who emigrated from France. Remarque was visiting Rosalia's family in San Francisco, when the 1880 US Census was being taken.
