Principal, W. Lacy, Architect, Los Angeles, CA, c. 1875. A note in the Los Angeles Herald, 05/28/1875, stated: "Mr. W. Lacy, the architect, has returned from San Francisco and will receive bids for building the First National Gold Bank at the Lafayette Hotel this morning at 8:30 o'clock." (See "Local Brevities,"Los Angeles Herald, vol. 4, no. 54, 05/28/1875, p. 3.)

Professional Awards

Lacy won a first place award in an exhibition held at San Francisco's Mechanic's Institute in 10/1857 in "Section XXII, Lithographs, Architecural Drawings, and Penmanship." The San Francisco firm of Clark and Kenitzer, the designers of California's State Capitol, came in second.
