Professional History

Résumé

Principal, Joseph Boardman, Architect, San Francisco, CA, c. 1862-1863. In 1863, Boardman operated his office in Room #15 of the Naglee Building. The San Francisco City Directory 1863, listed him as: "Boardman, Joseph, architect, newspaper carrier, etc." (See San Francisco City Directory, 1862, p. 433 and San Francisco City Directory, 1863, p. 71.)

It is likely that Joseph Boardman became a real estate developer. Voter rolls for 1875 and 1878 listed a "Joseph Boardman" as being in real estate and living at "3 Boardman Place," likely in one of his own developments located on an eponymous street. Personal

Relocation

Joseph Boardman was born in Ireland, and was working in San Francisco, CA, by at least 1862. He may have arrived in late 1861 or 1862.

Strangely, Boardman's entry in the 1878 San Francisco County voter rolls was crossed out, suggesting that he moved, died or became incarcerated at that time.
