John Bustad lived his life in WA State's Skagit Valley, residing in Mount Vernon, WA, In his later years, Bustad and his wife spent winters away from Mount Vernon, WA, preferring desert locations. He died in Mount Vernon just before he reached his 80th birthday.

Bustad married Luella May Nelson (1919-2014) on 05/01/1940 in Mount Vernon, WA. They remained married 59 years.

John and Luella had two children, a son, John (who lived in Puyallup, WA, in 2014), and a daughter, Janet, who died in 1996.

Biographical Notes

Bustad and his wife were active in the Mount Vernon Rotary Club. John was a member from 1952 until 1999, and acted as club president in 1972-1973, and as district governor during 1977-1978. An award for outstanding service to the group was named in his honor. SSN: 534-07-8688.
