The San Francisco Call and Post newspaper said in 04/1890: “The contract for the erection of the ten-story Crocker building on the Post and Market street gore has been let to Mahoney Bros., who will begin work at once. The carpenter and building contractor Jeremiah O. Mahony was born in Mitchelstown, County Cork, Ireland in 09/1835. Jeremiah was baptized on 09/13/1835, and, during the 19th century in Ireland, baptisms occurred very soon after birth or even on the same day.
He resided in San Francisco by at least 1860.
Jeremiah was naturalized in San Francisco’s 4th District Court on 10/01/1864, while his brother John was naturalized on 11/02/1864, in the same court. He died at this residence (numbered in 1917 as "560 Page") on 12/05/1917 at the age of 82 years and 3 months and was buried at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma, CA.
