Personal

In 1920, Landa lived with his parents, four brothers and sister and two lodgers in a rented house at 4455 1/2 East 1st Street in Los Angeles. Landa lived for a long time in Arcadia, CA; in 1970, he resided at 147 Altern Street, Arcadia. Landa died there in 2001.

His father was Pedro Landa, (born c. 1890 in Mexico), who entered the US in 1906. His mother, Henrietta (born c. 1895 in Mexico) came to the US in the same year. In 1920, Pedro worked as a furniture repair man at a Los Angeles factory. Two lodgers living with them probably worked at the same factory. Henrietta raised the family's five children: Rosie (born c. 1912 in CA), Rudolph, Ernest (born c. 12/1916 in CA), Richard (born c. 11/1917 in CA) and Albert (born c. 03/1919 in CA).

SSN: 562-12-0882; in 1942, Landa stood 70 inches tall and weighed 156 pounds. Before joining the US Army in 11/1942, Landa took a trip to the South Pacific. He traveled aboard the S.S. Lurline from Pago Pago, American Samoa, to San Diego, CA, between 09/17/1942-09/26/1942.
