Roseleaf was of Swedish extraction and was active in the local Swedish Club, formed in 1892. Roseleaf served as the Swedish Club #1's Building Contractor. He died in Seattle at the age of 89.

His father's name was "Anders Rosenlof," which may have been anglicized upon entering the country. His mother was Augusta Jonsson.
