On his US passport application of 11/23/1910, Lambert listed his occupation as "contractor." Born in Skåne County, Sweden on the southern tip of country, Lambert spent his childhood there. According to a US passport application of 11/23/1910, he came to the US aboard the Inman Lines' SS City of Berlin from Liverpool, England, beginning the journey on 04/15/1890. Lambert worked as a seaman and had lived in New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Saint Paul, MN, and the Alaskan Territory before coming to WA. He was naturalized in the US District Court of Kittson County, MN, on 03/01/1897, and relocated to Walla Walla, WA, by 1898. His 1910 US passport application listed Lambert, at age 39, as being Caucasian with a fair complexion, long face, medium chin, straight mouth, straight nose, medium forehead and blue eyes. He stood 6-feet, 1-inch tall. He requested a passport to travel abroad indicating that he would return "within six months."
