Raymond became a college professor. Dorius taught English literature at MIT, Harvard and Yale before finding employment at Smith College in 1958. He was one of three men charged with possessing photographs of male nudes at Smith, and convicted in 1960. The case was overturned by the Massachusetts Supreme Court in 1963, and Joel Dorius went on to teach at the University of Hamburg in Germany and San Francisco State University between the mid-1960s and 1984.
