Steinhardt was active in urban design efforts in the 1960s. An article in the Seattle Times in 1969 indicated: "Henry Steinhardt, Seattle architect, is chairman of an Urban Design Assistance team which visited Lynn, MA. The team is similar to the one which visited Redmond this fall." (See Steinhardt photo, Seattle Times, 12/28/1969. p. G3.)
