Principal, Achille Duchêne, Landscape Architect, Paris, France, active c. 1890-1940. Duchêne was one of the most prestigious French grand manner designers operating at the turn of the century. He produced an elaborate unexecuted garden plan for Francis J. Carolan (c. 1861-1923) and his wife, Harriet Pullman Carolan (1869-1956), and their second house, the ill-fated Carolands, (Hillsborough, CA, 1912-1915).
His father was the landscape designer, Henri Duchêne.
