Consulting Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Stanford University, Stanford, CA; at Stanford, he assisted in the establishment of the Blue Earthquake Engineering Center in 1974. He also endowed the John A. Blume Chaired Professorship at Stanford University. The John A. Blume Earthquake Engineering Center at Stanford was named in his honor.
