Rice spoke at the University of Washington,, College of Built Environments, Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 12:00 pm as part of its DMG "Outside the Box" Series, Architecture Hall G42, UW Seattle Campus. Rice summarized his talk, "BIM, BAM, BANG: Beginning to realize the potential of BIM": "An architectural information technology view of recent trends in design computing praxis and the shift to digital modeling and BIM in a practice long committed to physical model-building and the productive application of computing tools. Tim last spoke to the DMG in February, 2005 in a talk titled 'BIM, BAM, BOMB:What is HOT and what is NOT in architectural computer technology.'"
