Draftsman under Andrew Hopewell Hepburn, FAIA, Architect, Boston, MA; it is not known if Murrey worked for Hepburn before or after the elder architect formed the partnership of Perry, Shaw, and Hepburn with William Perry and Thomas Shaw in 1922. Perry, Shaw and Hepburn became instrumental in the architectural restoration work begun at Colonial Williamsburg, VA, (financed by John D. Rockefeller, Jr.,) in 1927. Taylor was also part of the Williamsburg Restoration, serving on the Advisory Committee of Architects created in 1928 to guide work there. (This group included eight architects and architectural historians: Taylor, Robert P. Bellows; Edmund S. Campbell; Finlay F. Ferguson, Sr.; Sidney Fiske Kimball; A. Lawrence Kocher; Milton B. Murrey received a Certificate to Practice Architecture in the State of CA. Member, American Society of Architects (AIA), Southern CA Chapter, c. 1955. President, Architects of the San Fernando Valley, an affiliate of the AIA Southern CA Chapter.
