Architectural licensing became mandatory in the State of Oregon in 1919, but practitioners well-established before that date could be "grandfathered" in with certification; Miller held Oregon License #63. Miler was registered to practice architecture in the states of OR and WA.

Miller's drawings from c. 1926-1960 composed Collection #761, "Charles B. Miller Architectural Drawings," held at the University of Washington, Department of Special Collections, Seattle, WA. Most of the drawings date between 1946-1956.
