Vallet had a brother, Raymond (born c. 1908 in MO), who worked as a bookkeeper in Saint Louis, MO, in 1930. (Raymond may also have been known as Vernon; a Vernon, two years younger, appeared in the 1920 US Census.) The family owned a house valued at $7,500 in that year.

In 1946, Vallet registered as a Democrat.
