The architect rapidly became acquainted with prominent artists, galery owners and art collectors in New York, establishing a successful practice designing pure studios and residences, galleries, and museums. The Syracuse University Architecture web site evaluated Gluckman's practice: "Since establishing his architectural practice in 1977, Mr. Gluckman has closely aligned his work with the world of art and design, creating distinctive spaces for numerous art galleries and museums, and developing installations with contemporary artists including Larry Gagosian, Andrea Rosen, Paula Cooper, Mary Boone, and Roland Augustine as well as assisted numerous artists like Jenny Holzer, Richard Serra, Dan Flavin, and Robert Wilson and Francesco Clemente on their installations."
