Personal

Relocation

Roald seems to have come to the U.S. in 1908; according to the 1910 U.S. Census, Roald was still a resident alien in 1910.

In 1953, Knud and Ingleif Roald resided at 2352 SW Market Street. (See Polk's Portland, Oregon, City Directory, 1953, p. 922.)

Married Ingleleif Sather in 1911; Sather was born in Aalesund, Norway.

Roald had one daughter, Irma, who married the son of the Norwegian-American, Portland architect, Frederick Aandahl, Sr.

Roald's name appeared in the U.S. Census for 1910, living in the Philadelphia Hotel, Portland, OR. He apparently migrated to the U.S. in 1908 from Norway. As is typical with census data, the spelling of Roald's name was erroneously entered as "Ronald."
