Deam began a collaboration with the furniture retailer, Design within Reach, and the manufacturer, Airstream, to redesign the interiors of Airstream travel trailers in 2000. This collaboration proved successful, and Deam continued to work for Airstream in 2007. Walter (Wally) Byam introduced the Airstream Clipper trailer in 1936, utlizing aluminum construction methods derived from the aircraft industry. In 2007, 2,000 Airstream trailers a year were produced in a factory located in Jackson, OH.
