Relocation

David Scott Quintin was born in Junction City, KS in 1884, but had moved to Philadelphia, PA, by 1900, at least. His mother, Katie Clark Quintin was widowed by age 40. In 1900, Katie and her three children lived at 812 North Union Street in Philadelphia. David moved to Southern CA before World War I, at least. In 1918, at the age of 34, Quintin was in the US Army, serving in Company B, Student Army Training Corps (SATC) Camp at the Presidio of San Francisco.

Quintin and his wife resided in San Gabriel, CA, at 418 North California Street in 1937. (See Los Angeles City Directory Company's San Gabriel City Directory, 1937, p. 747.) He and Robina Quintin continued to live at this address in 1942.

He died in Los Angeles County, CA.

Parents

His father, J.V. Quintin, a druggist, had died by 1900. His mother, Katie Clark Quintin (born 04/1860 in NY), raised three children on her own. The eldest son, John C. Quintin (born c. 02/1880 in KS), was a machinist in 1900, while his sister, Bessie J. (born 12/1882 in CO), attended school. The 1900 US Census of this year indicated that David was a "clerk gas," perhaps a gas station clerk at the time.
