In 1900, Thomas Haire lived with his parents and maternal grandmother, Martha Corwin (born c. 01/1838 in IN) at 415 Lawrence Street in Helena, MT.. According to Haire's 06/05/1917 World War I Draft Registration Card, he lived at 528 Hemlock, Helena, which may have been an incorrect address. In 1920, the US Census recorded that Thomas C. Haire lived with his parents at 528 Power Street, Helena, MT. He worked as an architectural draftsman for his father's firm, Link and Haire. When he moved to Seattle, by about 1928, he first lived in the Northcliffe Apartments at 1119 Boren Avenue. In 1930, he and his 56-year-old mother lived in Apartment #103 in the Northcliffe Building. The US Census of 1930 indicated that he worked as a "public" architect in that year.
His father, Charles S. Haire (born c. 06/1857 in OH), operated his own firm in Helena, MT, in 1920. His mother was Frances Corwin Haire (born c. 11/1866 in IL). Charles and Frances married c. 1889. According to the US Census of 1920, her parents came from IN. Charles's father, G.W., came from OH; in 1870, G.W. Haire operated a prosperous farm in the vicinity of Whitewater, OH; Charles's mother, Kate, came from KY.
Haire's World War I Draft Registration Card stated that he was of medium height and build with brown eyes and brown hair.
