Born in Seattle, WA, William Ridenour seems to have had a somewhat unstable childhood, as his parents moved frequently, and divorced before 1940. The 1930 US Census indicated that William resided with his parents on Lake Road in Medina, WA, in rented accommodations that cost $35 per month. His father was John Clyde Ridenour (born 08/26/1893 in McAlester, OK). J. Clyde Ridenour worked as a credit manager at the meat-packing firm, Armour and Company, in Seattle, WA, in 1925.
