Principal, Patrick J. O'Connor, Architect, San Francisco, CA, fl. 1869-1883. In 1969, O'Connor operated his office in Rooms #1 and #2 of the Armory Hall, on the northwest corner of Montgomery and Sacramento Streets. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1869, p. 676.) He leased an office at 5 Post Street in 1877. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1877, p. 465.) In 1883, he operated his solo architectural practice at 640 Market Street. (See the San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1883, p. 1106.)
A notice in the San Francisco Chronicle in 1887 reported that O'Connor worked on building alteration work amounting to $12,000: "Mission, near Fifth—Three buildings, alterations and additions; architect, O’Connor; mason, Dunbar; carpenter, R. Relocation
O'Connor was born in Liverpool, UK, and gained an education in Ireland and in Rome, Italy. He worked in Dublin and later Philadelphia, PA, before he traveled to San Francisco, CA, 06/18/1852.
He resided at 571 Howard Street in San Francisco in 1869. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1869, p. 478.)
O'Connor dwelled at 36 Geary Street in 1875. (See San Francisco, California, City Directory, 1875, p. 567.)
He died in San Francisco.
