According to the 1900 US Census, Charles worked as a farmer on land near Puyallup, WA. At this time, Charles's father Amos (born 10/16/1833 in Warren County, NJ-d. 1912 in Ellensburg, WA) lived with Charles and Lizzie. The household also included a boarder, Edward Nelson (born c. 08/1880 in MI) and a 17-year-old domestic servant Mary Rubish (born c. 04.1883 in WI). At age 40, Weller's World War II draft registration card indicated that he was Caucasian with a light complexion, hazel eyes and brown hair. He stood 66 inches tall and weighed 155 pounds.
