Later in life, the architect resided in Laguna Hills, CA, where he passed away at age 90. He was buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA.

She wed his father James Madison Fry (born 1862 in NC-d. 04/15/1929 in Los Angeles County, CA), about 14 years her senior, in 1901. James worked as a house carpenter in 1920.
