His mother was Caroline Grass (born 03/18/1845 in Gau-Heppenheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany-d. ). Her father was Petrus Grass (born c. 1810 in Germany), her mother, Marie Elisabethe Francoise Blum (born 02/23/1812 in Lauterecken, Bavaria). Conrad's father, also named Konrad Meussdorffer (born c. 1831 in Germany), worked as a San Francisco hatter in 1892. San Francisco voter records for 1892 indicated that Konrad had been naturalized an American citizen in the District Court of San Francisco on 05/16/1865.
