Lewis was born in the State of UT, and studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He relocated to Spokane c, 1910, and then Seattle, WA, in 1912, where he settled permanently. He died in Seattle on 11//07/1946 at the age of 60.

His father was Marion A. Lewis, his mother, Lena C. Thister.

His wife was Betty Lewis.
