A notice in the Pacilfic Builder and Engineer said in 1923: “Architect Moves Offices—J.L. McCauley, architect, Seattle has moved his offices from the New York building to the Alaska building. A.A. Like many architects during the worst years of the Depression, McCauley left the field and retired. He moved to San Diego, CA, by at least 1935 and died there 21 years later at the age of 78.
