Steilberg made trips to Europe in 1913-1914 and 1927; in 1913, a passport application described Steilberg as standing 5' 10", having blue eyes, light brown hair and a "sanguine" expression. William G. Corlett served as the witness at Steilberg's passport application hearing on 08/19/1913; he stated that he had known Steilberg 7 years at the time.
