Professional History

Superintendent of Airport Construction, United States Army, Signal Corps, 1917-1918; Gogerty attended Field Artillery Officer Training School in 1917. Before setting up his own practice, Gogerty worked for various architecture and engineering firms in TX and CA, 1918-1923. Partner, Gogerty and Weyl, Architects, Los Angeles, CA, c. 1925-1928; Principal, H.L. Gogerty Associates, Architects, Los Angeles, CA, 1928-c. 1965; Gogerty's own firm was also referred to as the "H.L. Gogerty Organization." He retired on or before 1970.

Gogerty obtained his certificate to practice architecture in the State of CA in later 1927. By 01/1928, he severed his business relationship with Carl Weyl. designed 20 school projects for the Compton Unified School District c. 1952 and 25 projects for the Covina Valley Unified School District c. 1960;

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) presented Gogerty a national achievement award in the science of construction for flexible walls he designed for schools in Southern CA. Awarded Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) in 1953.
