It is the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa), the original owners and developers, who we can thank for their pioneering ingenuity. Alcoa decided there could be no better method to show off the durability of their product than a landmark 2.25 million square feet of property with an exterior curtain wall of aluminum. Alcoa designed a special beige anodized finish for the silver areas and a Duranodic finish for the horizontal panels. To ensure the anodized silver finish remains brilliant over time, one face of the towers is sealed and cleaned annually, so that over a three-year cycle the entire facade has been maintained."
