"What for years was the UW's Visitors Information Center has been razed and is on its way to becoming a combined home for the new Visitors Center, the Office of Admissions Welcome Center and, primarily, the new home for UW Educational Outreach. Andrea Lex, senior director of student and administrative services for Outreach, said the building will be the department's first "united home," bringing together offices that are now scattered across five locations. The building, which will cost about $17.8 million and carries a high rating for its use of sustainable energy, is expected to open to the public in June of 2007, Lex said."
