Firm Notes
Architropolis Corporation was founded by designer and motorcycle innovator Michael Czysz (1964-2016), who attended Portland State University and Parsons School of Design in New York, NY, but did not graduate, in 1990. Some sources indicated that the firm was founded in 1992. The wording of a help wanted ad in The Sunday Oregonian from 07/26/1992 indicated that it had already been open before 07/1992 and had established clients: "Architect Asst, Licensed wanted for a new firm with good client base. Send resume, refs, samples & salary requirements...." (See Architropolis classified ad, The Sunday Oregonian, 07/26/1992, p. 61.)
Czysz closed Architropolis Corporation before his death in 2016 (c. 2013) to focus completely on his motorcycle design business, MotoCzysz. Czysz was also diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2013, a factor that likely forced him to focus his energies on MotoCzysz.
In 1992, Architropolis did business at 725 NW Flanders, Unit #402, Portland, OR, 97209. Later, it had an address of 911 NE Davis Street, Portland, OR 97232.
