Chilless Nielsen + Associates, Architects, was established in 1973 in Portland, OR. The Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon.com, said of the firm: "Chilless Nielsen + Associates Architects was formed in 1973 as a full service architectural firm that has focussed on financial institutions, retail and multifamily housing including senior, low income and dormitory facilities." In 1989-1990, the firm employed eight architects,one interior designer and one office administrator. Commercial, office and retail work accounted for 20% of the firm's work at this time, while housing comprised 70% and interior design, 10%. Most of the firm's work, at 80%, was located in OR, and 20% existed in other US states. The firm's office was located at 208 SW Stark Avenue, Portland, OR, 97204. Its headquarters remained in that city until it was purchased in 08/2003 by LRS Architects, Incorporated, also of Portland. This Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon.com article also stated: "LRS Architects will continue to operate separately and maintain its current identity, with a new affiliate company being created called CN+LRS Architects. Two associates from Chilless Nielsen + Associates Architects, Gail Boger and Janice Goo, both members of the American Institute of Architects, have become associates with LRS Architects."
