Firm Notes

The Alaska Portable House Company operated in Seattle, WA, in 1901 and 1902. (See R.L. Polk and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1902, p. 1268 and R.L. Polk and Company's Seattle City Directory, 1902, p. 1416.) The firm produced portable buildings--houses, storage sheds, schools and hotels--for use during the Gold Rushes in the Klondike and Alaska.

Its office was located in Room #602 of the New York Building and another address, perhaps a warehouse at the intersection of Pine and Railroad Streets, in 1901, and in Room #2 of Colman Dock a year later.
