According to an 1880 advertisement placed in the Daily Alta California newspaper, the Pacific Coast Dredging and Reclamation Company specialized in "dredging, building docks, wharves, piers, cutting canals for irrigation or other purposes, reclamation of swamp and overflowed salt marsh, tide or other lands." It also engaged in towing and freighting. In 1880, the company secretary operated from Room #14 in the Halleck Building, 320 Sansome Street in San Francisco, CA, while the managing director worked at 271 East Street.
