Firm Notes
The Ransome Company has had offices in Emeryville and San Leandro, CA. It was founded by Ernest Leslie Ransome (1844-1917), a pioneering figure in the use of reinforced concrete.
In 1871, it was known as the "Ransome Patent-Stone Company." (See “A New Church: Laying the Corner-Stone of the First Congregational Church,” San Francisco Chronicle, 06/09/1871, p. 3.)
