John C. Austin, John and Donald B. Parkinson and Austin Whittlesey comprised Allied Architects Association of Los Angeles in work on third Los Angeles City Hall (1926-1928); according to the UCLA Department of Special Collections: "The Allied Architects Association of Los Angeles, California was founded ca. 1921 to provide municipal, county, state, and national governments with professional architects at a reasonable cost. AAALA did not accept or perform architectural services for private individuals or firms." The Library of the Allied Architects Association of Los Angeles was absorbed by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Arts Library. This library had a fund for the purchase of architecture books that was donated by this group.
