James A. Moore (1861-1929) bought and sold real estate in Seattle from his arrival in Seattle in 1886 into the 1920s. In 1901-1902, the Moore Investment Company maintained an office at 112 Columbia Street in Seattle, The Moore Investment Company often utilized the financial backing of George Herbert Whitcomb (1842-1916), a Worcester, MA-based manufacturer of envelopes, to complete land deals.
