Henry Klein founded the ancestor of this firm in 1952. His firms were known as Henry Klein, Architect (1952-c. 1970), Henry Klein and Associates (c. 1970-1978), and the Henry Klein Partnership (1978-2005). He retired from the Henry Klein Partnership in 2004. In addition, the firm HKP Architects has operated from 2005 until the present.
